Depending on the degree of soiling of the rims or complete wheels, we recommend a cleaning solution with a proportion of 2% to 4% ultrasonic cleaner. Ready mixed. The product should be used on a powder-primed surface. For recommended primer, see "Accessories" Original rim paints from rim production When repairing original rims, in addition to the professional repair of the damage, the selection of the right paint is of the utmost importance. Only by using the right paint can the original color be faithfully restored. In practice, this requirement usually poses a problem: Even if the color tone or paint code is known - which is usually not the case - and is remixed, the color deviations compared to the original are striking and cannot be expected of the paying customer. Mainhattan-Wheels also offers a solution here. In our range you will find original colors, exactly as used by the rim manufacturers in the production of new rims. Regardless of whether it is a wet paint or powder coating, when applied correctly, massive color deviations compared to the original are a thing of the past. Especially when coating individual rims of a wheel set, this is exactly what makes the difference to the competition. Important note on processing When rims are manufactured, they are first primed with a powder coating, then painted with a wet paint and finally sealed with an acrylic powder clear coat. The original paints are therefore largely designed for use as part of a powder coating process. For example, they must be applied at an object temperature of 60° C, which in some cases cannot be reaslized without a stoving oven. However, this is easily possible for companies with powder coating facilities. In our powder coating systems, for example, we offer an integrated wet paint spray booth in order to be able to use precisely this process - the combination of powder coating and wet painting. In addition to the original wheel paints, we also offer the original powder paints for priming (in different primer colors depending on further use), as well as the original acrylic powder paints for transparent clear coating. In addition to the acrylic powder coating for rims, we also offer clear powder for matt rim surfaces, for example.
